The Polaris S4 industrial direct to garment platform offers next generation garment decoration technology. It is designed to handle a sophisticated array of automation needs and quality requirements. The S4 pretreat unit digitally delivers pretreat chemistry exactly where it is needed behind each print. Not only is the pretreat digitally targeted as ‘shape for shape’ area application, but the density and amount of pretreat can be controlled garment to garment via integrated workflow software. This breakthrough allows for a wider range of fabric types, construction and colours to be explored without fear of ‘boxing’ or UV staining associated with some other pretreat solutions.
The S4 digital pretreat unit is a collaboration project between M&R and Xaar, developed and engineered with the printhead manufacturer’s aqueous inkjet technology.
